RAINBOW NATION DAY!

To raise money for Sport Relief, all the children and staff dressed up in rainbow colours!  Each year group were given a colour of the rainbow to wear.  We all dressed up and had a special whole school assembly.  We had a parade on the stage so everyone could see all the fantastic clothes we were wearing.  At the end of the day we raised £306.84 for Sport Relief!  We will be uploading some pictures and videos very soon!

Pip Came to Breakfast Club!

character_advert_02

Pip, the Manchester Fayre mascot, came to greet the children at Breakfast Club this term.  Manchester Fayre provides the school meals for Temple Primary School.

Pip attended the Breakfast Club to give out stickers and bookmarks and to tell the children about the exciting competition they can enter on the website www.myschoollunch.co.uk/manchester.

There are prizes of family tickets to Gulliver's World Theme Park and runner-up prizes of pony trekking rides for the winner and a friend.  Pupils simply log on to the website and go to Pip's Corner.  They enter the password "apple" and answer the 4 questions.

On the My School Lunch website, you will find educational games that will help your child learn about food and healthy eating.  Children can email Pip and receive their own email back from him.

For parents, there is the opportunity to see the weekly menu, look for information about healthy eating and provide feedback on the school meals service.

The Big Walk

On 12th March 2007, all members of staff and every pupil in school decided to get some exercise and go on a big walk around the block.  This means over 500 people were walking together to promote the idea of walking to school and taking care of the environment!  TV's Channel M News thought it was a great idea and decided to record a story on our Big Walk.  We made our own video too and it will be uploaded soon on this page.  So watch this space!

Fruits 4Upicture1

The Temple School Council have opened up a tuck-shop called Fruits 4U, selling nothing but healthy fruit and snacks.  The shop is open everyday between 10:50 and 11:10 in the Junior Playground.  The cost is 10p per fruit - other snack prices vary.  So ditch the crisps and choose FRUITS 4U!

Science Day!

Science Day was a HUGE success!  There were lots of experiments and investigations taking place and every class took part.  Even parents were joining in!  We had lots of fun... Take a look at our Powerpoint Presentation to see all the things we did.

Super Learning Week - Be Healthy, Be Safe!

Here at Temple, we like to be healthy!  So, we decided to dedicate a whole week to learning about health and safety.  From 19th to 23rd February 2007, we enjoyed healthy food, lots of exercise and learnt a lot about fire safety.  We hope this will encourage everyone to have a healthy lifestyle outside of school too!
