Summer Term - we are now entering into our school summer term. We have a lot of exciting things planned for this term inlcuding lots of work on Africa and the Olympics. If you think that you could help us with any of these areas then please speak to one of the reception class team.

Homework is sent home on a Thursday, please share it with your child over the weekend and return it to school no later than the following Tuesday.

Our Class Assembly - sharing our RE work this half term of Sorrow and Joy during Lent.

We were incredibly proud of all of the children during our class assmbly. They all were absolute stars! Thank you also to all of the parents who came to support their child on the day, it makes a huge difference to have you there.

Easter Garden Planting - Thursday 29th March 2012

The Children in Reception class all designed their own Easter Spring Gardens. We looked at the designs and chose elements of everybody's desgin to create our own Easter Garden.

We have planted spring flowers and summer bulbs in the shape of the Cross in our garden area with the help of some of the children's Mum's!

SCIENCE WEEK Monday 19th - Friday 23rd March 2012

We have been very busy during science week exploring water systems outside and inside and going for a science walk to Chorlton Water Park to observe the signs of Spring.

A huge thanks to the Mum's and Dad that helped out on the day to make the trip out possible... Alyssias Dad, Leann's Mum, Alisha's Mum, Sean M-S's Mum, Ben's Mum and Owen's Mum, you all earnt that cup of tea!

The walk certainly tired out our little legs, but we had booked the weather so that made it much easier for us all! The children were a credit to St Ambrose - we were very proud of them all.

What a view... we are so lucky to have such an amazing resource on our door step.

A well earnt 5 minutes in the park!

Large scale water systems outside:

The children explored the differnt ways that water could move along and down guttering and piping. They positioned and repositioned the guttering over the week to find the best ways to get water to travel from one place to another.

 

 

 

Tree Planting - Thursday 23rd February 2012 Parkway playing fields.

We had a great afternooon on Thursday planting trees with Red Rose Forest.

We were shown how to dig out the holes and plant the trees, we then had a go ourselves!

The sun even shone for us in February!

 We walked all the way back to school after all of our hard work!

 

Our New Outdoor Equipment - Den Making Resources

After the February half-term we returned to school to find that some new exciting large construciton and den making material had been delivered. We have spent the week exploring our new resources...

The boxes are always the best part of a new delivery!
